Clipboard has been updated with the rolls for this weekend.

For all events, please aim to arrive 60 minutes earlier than your start time so that you can check in with the DTget your name marked off the Clipboard roll with your coach, and warm up sufficiently before your first official bout. Get on the pistes early for warm up bouts before it gets crowded!

For Fencers competing in the AFF Australian Senior School Championships, you are advised to do your weapons check at the venue the day before your event to avoid long queues on the day of your event. Please check: https://www.ausfencing.org/tribe-events/2025-australian-senior-schools-championships/ for more information and operating times for weapons check (equipment control).

Senior A teams, please make sure you wear the High rugby (striped) sock to identify you as a 1st Grade Fencer. If you don’t already own one, please see me in my staff room tomorrow (Friday) to get one. All other fencers should wear the High soccer (mostly blue with one brown stripe on top) sock on your back leg.
Please remember to bring a towel, water bottle, snacks and sports jacket for podium photos.

We wish our fencers all the best for this weekend!
Please contact me if there are any issues or questions.

Monday 21/07/2025 – Welcome back to Term 3 – U16 and U19 Squad Training is on from 1pm to 3pm

Welcome back to Term 3!

We have one week to go before School Nationals – I encourage all senior squad fencers to attend the allocated training session on Monday 21/07/2025 from 1pm to 3pm as coaching resources have been assigned.

As this is still a staff development day, attendance is voluntary and the roll will still be taken. We encourage all senior squad fencers to attend to help prepare for the upcoming competition – for those new to national level competitions, please ask your coaches to prepare you for special rules such as when to ask for video reffing, passivity rules etc.

Please borrow all relevant equipment as needed using the QR code system. Mr Huynh will be available to help with internal weapon/gear checks on Wednesday during the training session.

Please contact Mr Huynh if there are any issues or questions.

Attention Epee Squad: URGENT – CHANGES TO NSWSFL EPEE LEAGUE PROGRAM (from 14 June onwards)

As we are aware of the conflicting schedule with NSWFA and AFF events later this season, we have updated the NSWSFL Epee schedule to minimise this conflict.
Bill shares the following comms to schools:

“Hi supporters of the NSWSFL Epee League

We have had to make significant changes to the remaining events for 2025. See the attached amended program. The first change takes effect on 14 June.

This has been forced on us by the calendar established by the NSW Association for Schools Events and the pathway to National (AFF) Schools Championships.

Half of our League Schools have now indicated that their U19 fencers would be excluded from our League, and our U19 teams would not be a viable event.

As you are aware, we developed our program in 2024 and shared it with yourselves and the State at the time, and we agreed on a collaborative calendar approach.

Their own schedule was delayed for some reasons, which we understand, but it emerged in direct conflict.

The changes we have made, unfortunately, mean that OXLEY will forgo hosting in 2025. We regret that as we wish for the calendar to include all participating schools. SACS will pick up the additional date.

KNOX will need to be happy for their hosting event to be U19 Teams Round 1 on 2/08/25.

PLEASE ensure that your coaches, Supervisors, fencers and their families and supporters are informed

Once again, I apologise for the necessary changes made to maintain the integrity of our fabulous league, and thank you for your support.”

Kind regards,

Bill Ronald
NSWSFL Epee Program Manager
