Monday Squad Training – Invitation for U14 and U16 Squads for all weapons to train on Monday (03/06/19) after school in week 6
Hi all,
As years 10 and 11 have exams in week 6, I am inviting all U14 and U16 squad members to attend the Monday (03/06/19) training session (usually reserved for U19 squads) to capitalise on the coaching resources allocated for those sessions.
Training is from 3:30pm to 5pm.

Saturday 01/06/19 – NSWFA Roberta Nutt Senior Individual Competition (All weapons)
Hi all,
This Saturday is the Roberta Nutt Senior Individual Competition.
Venue: NSW Fencing Centre
All fencers are reminded to arrive at least 30 minutes before their start time to sign in at the DT (Director of Tournament) table and warm up before their first match.
Start times:
- Senior Boys Sabre: 8:00am
- Senior Boys Epee: 8:30am
- Senior Boys Foil: 11:00am
All SBHS Fencers are required to wear full fencing uniform in accordance with competition requirements, along with one white fencing sock on their front fencing leg and one SBHS soccer sock (sky blue with two brown stripes on top) on their rear fencing leg for ease of identification at the competition venue. All SBHS fencers are also reminded to wear a SBHS sport jacket for medal ceremonies.
Coach Ted, Coach Garry and Mr Huynh will be present to support and supervise our fencers. We wish you all the best in the competition!

SBHS has won the NSWSFL Team Foil Premiership 2019!
The NSW Schools’ Fencing League 2019 Foil fixtures concluded last weekend and the results have been tabulated for the season.
We have won the NSWSFL Team Foil Premiership for 2019!
Congratulations to our Foil fencers for the following age category results:
SBHS U14 Foil Team: 2nd place
SBHS U16 Foil Team: 2nd place
SBHS U19 Foil Team: 1st place
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the amazing coaches, students and parents for their hard work and support in making this season a great success.
The official Epee League results will be posted once the final fixture has concluded this weekend and full results have been tabulated.

Saturday 25/05/19 – NSWSFL Epee Team Premiership Round 3 @ SBHS
This Saturday we will be hosting the 3rd round of the NSWSFL Epee Team Premiership.
All Epee Squad members are expected to attend and assist where needed if you are not actively fencing. I would appreciate some assistance with setting up the COLA in the morning so please aim to arrive by 7:15am if possible.
The Fencing Parent Committee will be providing morning tea for students and parents. Please remember to bring $2 to help with catering expenses.

P.S. Please note safety regulations for Epee fencers: ensure all fencers wear knee length socks with breeches (uniform is one white sock, one SBHS soccer sock on the back leg – Rugby sock for SBHS U19 fencers). Fencers will not be able to compete if not in full fencing uniform (no exposed skin).

Epee Fixtures start this Saturday 11/05/19
The NSWSFL Epee Team Premiership starts this Saturday with St Aloysius’ College hosting the first fixture.
Teams have been selected in consultation with Coach Ted and details can be found on the Results 2019 page below:

Squad members not in teams should still be prepared to fence as benched reserves in case of misadventure or any other issues in that team on the day. Squad members who are not actively fencing on the day will assist with refereeing and other duties in order to fulfil their Saturday participation commitment and support their school.
Ms Stewart and Coach Ted will be present to supervise at SAC on Saturday.

Final Trial Session for U19/U16 Sabre this Saturday 11/05/19
The final trial session for the U19/U16 sabre teams will be held this Saturday at the usual 7:30-9:30am. The round will follow the existing format – there will be two poules in this last session.
This will be your last chance to secure the points you need to enter either team. If you are unsure of how the ranking system works, please refer to the previous post about Sabre Trials. The teams will be finalised and announced in the following week after this final trial session. The rankings are accessible here:
