Kenaz won Silver and William won Bronze in the U15 Epee comp! It was a great opportunity to learn and connect with peers from other schools and everyone seemed to have a good time from this innaugural event. We look forward to more opportunities like this in future!

Senior Epee teams: Our Senior Epee team had a strong start in the poules, but lost out to a resilient St Aloyisus A team in a close final, placing our team with Silver. It was a good effort from our fencers and we will level up for next season!
U15 Epee teams: Our U15 Epee A team brought home the Gold and our U15 Epee B team came equal 3rd with Bronze. Well done, boys!
U13 Epee teams: Our U13 Epee team fought well with a strong lead early in the bout, but a determined St Aloysius team managed to clutch the victory in the final round. A good effort from our boys with Silver!

There were many close matches throughout the competition with victories determined by a single point. Our B Team was unfortunately eliminated after the 2nd round of DE. Our A Team moved on to the top 8. We fought well to gain a slight lead but were bested by St Aloysius, a traditionally strong team, who climbed their way from behind and won in the 1 minute sudden death. Great fencing and support from all of our boys in attendance. Let’s level up for next year!

Our Senior Epee Team and Senior Sabre Team are once again the National School Team Champions!
Our Senior Foil Team had their first appearance at the competition in over a decade and brought home the Silver!

It was a tough competition and our boys fenced well leading up to the Direct Eliminations. Unfortunately, our boys were eliminated in the subsequent rounds of 64, 32 and 16. John Tian was the final SBHS fencer left in the competition late in the afternoon and fenced his way into the Top 8, but ended his journey there. A valiant effort from all of our boys!

Senior Boys Foil:
A huge congratulations to our SBHS B team for winning Silver! It was an incredibly challenging competition and our boys fenced extremely well to earn this well deserved and long-awaited achievement. As a result, we have finally qualified for the National School Teams Championships in Foil coming up in June!
Our SBHS A team fought valiantly through the poules and first round of DEs, but unfortunately were eliminated by the top seed, Grammar 1sts, in the following round of DEs. It was an impressive effort from all of our boys.
Senior Boys Sabre:
Congratulations to our Sabre team for bringing home the Gold once again! With fresh additions to the team this year, they fought hard to uphold the top position in the competition and won with humility. Our Sabre team has qualified for the National School Teams Championships held in Brisbane later in June. Well done, boys!
Senior Boys Epee:
Due to no other teams entering in the NSW qualifier, we have automatically qualified for the National School Teams Championships in Brisbane later in June.
It was one of the longest days of school competitions. All of our fencers did a great job of supporting each other and pushed themselves to improve from their experiences. We have finally reached a milestone of qualifying in all three weapons and I look forward to our upcoming trip to Brisbane. I am very proud of you all for your efforts and High Spirit on Saturday. Well done to all of our fencers, referees and supporters!
