Saturday 06/08/2022 – Urgent Update for NSWSFL Foil Team Premiership fixture 3 hosted at Barker College
I was very recently made aware that SAC will not be able to field enough fencers for the final match scheduled for Week 4 (13/08/2022) due to a conflicting school event (Father Son Camp) that weekend.
As such, and with consultation with SAC and BARK, we are moving the SAC v SBHS matches to Week 3 (06/08/2022) that Barker is hosting to complete the Foil Team Premiership fixtures.
SBHS will provide an additional 3 pistes to make 6 total pistes available to use at Barker on the day. We are able to run the SAC v SBHS bouts concurrently with BARK v SGS during Match 1 on the day.
The following revised match schedule is proposed for Saturday 06/08/2022 (week 3, Term 3):
Match 1 (8am – 9:15am): BARK v SGS and SAC v SBHS
Match 2 (9:30am – 10:45am): SAC v SGS
Match 3 (11am – 12:30am): BARK v SBHS
All SBHS Foil Squad Fencers will be expected to attend to ensure we provide sufficient referees and support our teams.
We will be able to conclude the Foil Team Premiership on the day and will proceed to awarding medals right after the final match finishes.
A consequence of this update is that the BBQ sausage sizzle planned for week 4 at SBHS will be cancelled. We will aim to bring it back with improved planning for next season.
Thank you, everyone, for your patience and cooperation.
Please let me know if there are any issues or questions.
Cheers,
Dat Huynh

Australian Schools Senior Championships – Individual Entries open until 9th of July
Attention all Senior Squad Fencers:
A reminder that the Australian Schools Senior Championships are coming up on 23-24 July at the NSW Fencing Centre.
As the events are happening locally and the Individual event qualification only requires participation in any of the previous NSWFA competitions, we will endorse all SBHS Senior Squad Fencers who wish to participate in the individual events. The individual events are voluntary for our fencers, but encouraged if you wish to gain higher level competition experience.
Please follow the link below for more information and to register if you wish to fence in the Individual event.

Important Notes:
- Closing date for registering is 4pm on Thursday 21 July – late fee has been waived by AFF.
- All fencers are responsible for registering themselves and paying the entry fee ($95) to participate in the relevant Individual event.
- Individual and team events will be held on the same day for each weapon.
- Teams are selected by the SBHS Coaching Team and the team registration and team entry fees will be managed by the MIC. For Team lists, please visit: https://sbhsfencing.com/2022-results/
- You do not have to fence in the individual event to be a part of the team event (pending team selection). However, if you do fence the individual event, your ranking/results from the individual event will contribute to the team seeding for the team event.
- Coaches and staff supervision are scheduled to attend and assist on both days of the competition.
- The AFF has confirmed that 350N masks will be OK, as they were for the Intermediate Schools in Canberra recently.
