Costs

The SBHS Fencing Program is supported and heavily subsidised by the school through generous donations from supporters and fundraising activities such as parking events.

For our school to maintain the quality of our extra-curricular activities and sports programs beyond the academic curriculum and public funding, we ask parents to contribute to the school sport co-payment that your son participates in. This payment helps to cover the cost of coaches, equipment maintenance and school competition entry fees.

Upon joining the SBHS Fencing program, students will be expected to pay the following fees:

$315 (TBC for 2025) school sport co-payment for Fencing to be made to the front office or online using the school payment portal before the end of Term 2.

  • Squad fencers are also expected to pay the NSW Fencing Association Junior Participative Membership fee (2024 cost was $45, 2025 cost TBC) to be able to fence in the NSWFA school competitions.

Additional uniform costs:

All years:

  • $40 for a personal fencing glove. New fencers will be able to try on and purchase a glove early in the season to determine correct fit.
  • SBHS Fencing shirt, tracksuit jacket and pants to be purchased from the High Store – to be worn at competitions for medal ceremonies and to identify you as a High fencer.

Returning Fencers:

  • Your own fencing mask, underplastron, breeches and jacket (see Personal Fencing Gear for more information)
  • 1 knee length SBHS ‘soccer’ (sky blue with two brown stripes on top) sock to be purchased from the High Store – to be worn at competitions to identify you as a High fencer.
