Saturday and Sunday 17-18/06/2023 – Fencing events on this weekend

This coming Saturday and Sunday we have the busiest weekend of the season with the following events happening across 3 venues:

  1. NSWSFL U14 Epee Team Premiership Round 1:
    Venue: St Andrew’s Cathedral School
    Start Time: 8:00am to 12:00pm
  2. NSWFA AJ Rae Senior Team Championships (All weapons):
    Venue: NSW Fencing Centre
    Men’s Epee Start Time: 8:00am
    Men’s Foil Start Time: 8:00am
    Men’s Sabre Start Time: 10:30am
  3. Saturday and Sunday 17-18/06/2023 – AFF Australian Intermediate Schools Championships (all weapons) – Melbourne, Victoria:
    Venue: Victorian State Fencing Centre
    Saturday Start Time:
    10:30am – Boy’s Foil Individuals followed by Teams
    Sunday Start Time:
    9:00am – Boy’s Epee Individuals followed by Teams
    11:30am – Boy’s Sabre Individuals followed by Teams

Students will also be added to the relevant rolls in Clipboard.

To all fencers participating:

  • Please make sure you arrive 45 minutes before your start time to check in with the teacher/coach and Director of Tournament (DT) to get your name marked off the roll, warm up and prepare for your first match.
  • Bring your SBHS tracksuit jacket and wear the SBHS soccer sock on your back leg. You should have a full length white sock on your front leg (no exposed skin) when fencing.
  • Besides your uniform and gear, also bring a towel, water bottle and healthy snack to recharge between matches.

Mr Huynh will be supervising the fencers in Melbourne this weekend. Please make sure everyone does their part, uphold our school values and support each other in their events. All the best to our fencers – GO HIGH!
